The MINI Challenge to Benefit Genius Garage
Miles Ahead is pleased to partner with Genius Garage to bring the MINI Challenge to Hilliard, OH on Saturday, June 26, 2021. This exhilarating autocross competition puts drivers behind the wheel of identical, turbocharged MINI John Cooper Works Hardtops. Engineered by BMW, these 228 horsepower, British built MINIs deliver exhilarating performance, but are docile enough for drivers of all ability levels. No previous racing or performance driving experience is required.
Genius Garage is an Ohio-based 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides motivated college engineering students with hands-on experience preparing race cars for competition and building and maintaining high performance road cars. Proceeds from this fundraising event will help Genius Garage achieve its mission. Its founder, race car driver and social media influencer, Casey Putsch, will post a target time prior to your session. You'll get to take your best shot to see if you can beat him!
You can choose to compete either as an individual or as part of a 3-person team. You will get three sessions of three runs each for a total of nine timed laps. There is a break between your 3-lap sessions to debrief with your teammates and watch other drivers set their times. Individuals and teams are ranked in real time throughout the day. Final team standings are determined by adding the best lap time of each of the team's drivers from both, 3-lap sessions. Rankings are displayed at the event and are also accessible on your smart phone, allowing you to keep track of your position in the standings throughout the day. Participation takes approximately two hours.
Genius Garage, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, was created to bridge the gap from academia to industry, giving students with spark an opportunity to grow and prove their worth to potential employers.
