Fair Haven's Race to the Finish: Indianapolis, IN
The month of May in Indianapolis only means one thing...racing! You can join in the excitement by helping Fair Haven “Race to the Finish” of its campaign to open a new facility where hundreds of families battling a serious illness will find a home-away-from-home!
Compete in this thrilling autocross competition either individually or as a member of a 3-driver racing team, with teammates of your choice. Identical MINI John Cooper Works Hardtops are provided for each driver. Engineered by BMW, these German engineered / British built cars deliver surprising performance, but are docile enough for drivers of all levels. No previous racing or performance driving experience is required.
2-time Indy 500 runner-up, Scott Goodyear, will conduct the drivers meeting and provide instruction via in-car radio during a low speed orientation lap of the course. You will then get three timed lapping sessions with breaks in between to debrief with your teammates. Scott will be available for additional coaching during the breaks. Upon completion of the timed laps, he will then take to the course to do a few timed laps of his own so that you can directly compare your laps times to those a high level, professional race car driver!
Individual and team standings are calculated and displayed in real time during the event. Participation takes approximately two hours. Standings are also accessible on your smart phone so that you can keep track of both individual and team standings throughout the day. At the end of the day, the winning team is the one with the lowest cumulative time when adding together each of the three drivers' fastest laps.
Thousands of patients travel to Indianapolis each year from across the Midwest for specialized care for cancer, cardiovascular disease, high-risk pregnancy, organ transplant, and more. Many of them must stay for weeks or months while receiving critical, life-saving treatment. Fair Haven shares the love of Christ with these patients and their families by providing them with a convenient and comfortable place to stay near the hospital. This home-away-from-home lifts a tremendous burden for these families. It allows their loved ones to get the critical care they need and makes it possible for families to be together when they need each other most.
With a long waiting list of families in need, all proceeds from this fundraising event will go toward opening Fair Haven at Ada’s Place! This new location will provide lodging and support to hundreds of additional families each year. Your support will help to open the doors of the new facility and allow families to begin staying there in the summer of 2021!

No. Our MINIs have sport automatic transmissions. The cars will be in "Sport" mode, which makes the transmission shift more aggressively. Just put the car in drive and go!
The MINI Challenge is a low density, outdoor event with ample room for social distancing. Participant capacity is 24 people in each of three different lapping sessions during the day. This is well under the CDC’s recommended guidelines for public gatherings during the COVID-19 pandemic. 6 of the 24 people will be in cars at any given time. The 18 remaining participants will await their turn to drive in an expansive outdoor waiting area. The cars’ windows and sunroofs will be open during the event for maximum fresh air circulation. Masks, hand sanitizer, and disposable gloves will be available for all participants wishing to use them. Waste receptacles will be placed for the safe disposal of gloves.
If you elect to register by paying a one-time fee, you will be obligated to pay that fee unless you cancel your participation at least three weeks prior to the event or name a substitute driver to take your place.
If you elect to register by paying the nominal registration fee and then solicit sponsors to fund the rest of your participation, you are responsible for delivering the amount of that pledge prior to the event. If you have not produced the pledge amount by the date of the event, you may still participate, but you will be responsible for making up the shortfall at on site check-in. If you have registered this way and you are unable to participate after registering, the donations of your sponsors are not refundable, but you may name a substitute driver to take your place any time up to the day of the event. You and / or your replacement driver are still responsible for delivering the pledge amount, however.
